QUETTA: The German ambassador to Pakistan called on Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo on Friday and discussed issues of mutual interest, including promoting investment in the province.

The chief minister apprised Alfred Grannas about the Reko Diq copper and gold mining project and Gwadar Port, saying that Balochistan had tremendous investment opportunities in various sectors.

“Balochistan has a unique geographical location with a wide coastal belt, energy sources and valuable minerals,” Mr Bizenjo said, adding that the province had created a safe and favourable environment for foreign and local investment.

The government was providing incentives to promote foreign investment, he said and highlighted the role of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, and the Public-Private Partnership Authority in this regard.

The German ambassador also took a keen interest in emerging business opportunities and said that the province was set to attract foreign investment.

Mr Grannas said the German government would provide assistance in required fields, including skill training to the workforce and health sector, adding that promoting trade relations with Balochistan could be improved.
