Belgian envoy visits Kotdiji Fort

SUKKUR: Belgian Ambassador to Pakistan Charles Delogne along with a delegation of Belgium-Pakistan Friendship Group led by its chairperson Allessia Claes met flood survivors in the rain-hit areas of Khairpur and visited Kotdiji Fort on Friday.

According to a press release, the delegation also went to the taluka hospital and water supply schemes before visiting the fort. The foreign guests inquired after the health of patients and asked them about whether they had got their children vaccinated against polio.

Khairpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Sharjeel Noor Channa briefed the guests about the damage wrought by the recent torrential rain and flood, relief works and measures taken by the administration for dewatering the flooded areas. DHO Dr Rahmatullah Solangi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zafar Abbas, Assistant Commissioner Darya Khan Chandio and other officials briefed them about their areas of work.

The delegation appreciated Sindh government’s and district administration’s efforts, said the press release.
