LAHORE: Ravi Urban Development Authority (Ruda) Chief Executive Officer Imran Amin has said the authority’s master plan was being projected as part of the Lahore Development Authority’s master plan 2050, that was not the case.

Presiding over an internal meeting held at its headquarters to review the progress on different projects, the CEO said Ruda had its own master plan that was independent of any other authority, and the same would be followed in the letter and spirit.

He categorically dispelled the impression, what he said was being created by some elements with “vested interest” that Ruda’s master plan was part of LDA’s master plan 2050.

He said Ruda was an independent authority and it had its own trajectory of progression.

Meanwhile, Ruda had finalised an initiative for installing waste water treatment plants, besides taking measures to fight smog through industrial good practices, he added. These initiatives, he said, would not only result in mitigation of climatic effects, but also improve the environment.

He said Ruda’s master plan was very comprehensive in its intent and being already considered as an engineering feat to train rivers and rejuvenate the aquifer. The CEO appreciated Ruda’s team of experts for its hard work.
