TOBA TEK SINGH: Three robbers were shot and injured on Thursday in Faisalabad and Jhang.

According to the Faisalabad police, the Dolphin police squad stopped two motorcycle riders early in the morning in the vicinity of the Jhang Bazaar police station. However, they opened fire on the police, who then returned fire. Both motorcycle riders suffered injuries as a result, and they were taken to the Allied Hospital.

They were identified as Muhammad Javed and Shoukat Ali. Illegal weapons and a stolen bike was found on them. Both were sought in numerous robbery incidents in various Faisalabad police stations. In Faisalabad, this is the fourth encounter so far in 2023.

In Jhang, the city police were transporting Ghulam Abbas Kaka, involved in 20 robbery and gang rape cases, to recover looted valuables. Near the River Chenab spur, three people attacked the police van and fired indiscriminately, which was also retaliated against. Kaka received a bullet fired by his accomplices and was injured. He was shifted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital.

SUICIDE: A man died by suicide here in Chak 323-JB, Trandi, late on Wednesday.

Police said Muhammad Younis was alone in his room when he hanged himself with a ceiling fan. His family members broke the locked door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

WALK: To raise awareness among the public against child abuse, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau organized a walk on Thursday at Faisalabad.

Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh led the walk from the DC Complex, which culminated at the same spot after passing different roads. He said the district government was committed to providing facilities for the children in the education, health, and sports sectors, and a number of measures had been taken in this regard.

He said it was also the responsibility of society to protect the rights of the children and deprived children should not be neglected.

ACCIDENT: One person died and another was critically injured when their motorcycle and a donkey cart collided head-on near the Darja Awal Ghee factory in Faisalabad on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shabbir and the injured as Amin, of village Chak 343-GB. Amin was admitted to the Faisalabad DHQ hospital.

FIRE: A woman was burned alive in the fire that broke out in her house’s kitchen at Faisalabad’s Chak 197-RB on Sheikhupura Road on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 said deceased Shahnaz Bibi was cooking meal when her clothes caught fire. She was rushed to Allied Hospital’s burn unit where she expired.

KILLED: Robbers allegedly shot dead a man over resistance on Thursday at Faisalabad near a Small industrial Estate on Daewo Road.

According to police, Khwaja Shajar Mahmood was intercepted by two gunmen who killed him when he offered resistance.
