ISLAMABAD, Jan 4: Eight Pakistani youngsters reached the quarterfinals while two girls made it to the second round of British Junior squash championship at Sheffield on Wednesday.

Ahmed Amin lost in the third round whereas Hamza Bokhari and Nasir Iqbal entered the quarterfinals in the boys U-13.

In the U-15 Aurangzeb Mohmand, Saqib Yousuf and Farhan Zaman marched into the quarterfinals.

Shohaib Hassan moved into the quarterfinals in under-17 but Shahzad Khan and Waqar Mehboob lost their matches in the third round.

In the U-19 Bilal Zaman, Farhan Mehboob and Aamir Atlas advanced to the last eight.

In the girls event, Anna Batool Kardar got a bye in the first round and will play against Nouran Alaa from Egypt in the next round.

Zoya Khalid lost in the first round against Israa Samay from Egypt. However Maria Toor won her first round match and will face Fiona Mourley of England in the second round.—APP
