CHINIOT: Ten people were detained for organising a large-scale dog fight at Chak 154 JB where dozens of dogs competed against one another.

The Kot Wasawa police claim that ASI Wajid Ali and other police officials were on patrol close to Chak 153-JB when they received word of the incident.

Amjid Ali, Faisal Abbas, Muhammad Imran, Mazhar Abbas, Waris, Kashif, Abdul Shakoor, Mazhar, and Muhammad Nazir were all detained by the police.

In addition to dispersing the gathering, the cops also found Rs4,750 in bet money.

They were charged with violating sections 5 and 7 of the Punjab Prevention of Gambling Ordinance of 1978, as well as section 6(c) of the Pakistan Prohibition of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1890.
