Mahfooz on ICF panel

KARACHI, Jan 3: An official of the Canoeing Association of Pakistan (CAP) is among the six who have qualified as technical official/judge of the International Canoeing Federation (ICF) after clearing their examination.

Syed Mahfoozul Haq, secretary, Sindh Canoeing Association, was listed on the ICF panel after he qualified at the examination that took place during the recently concluded 11th Asian canoeing championship, held at Putrajaya, Malaysia.

He is also associate secretary, CAP.

As many as 24 officials from 18 Asian countries appeared in the examination.

Secretary CAP, Capt (retd) Jawaid Zia, was elected secretary of the newly formed SAF Canoeing Association.

Both Mahfooz and Jawaid Zia also represented the country at the Asian Canoeing congress.

Before the congress, one minute silence was observed for Pakistan’s earthquake victims.
