LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Saturday to have arrested four suspects belonging to proscribed organisations from different areas of the province.

The CTD conducted 30 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in different districts of Punjab in which 30 suspects were interrogated.

During these IBOs, four suspects identified as Danish of Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, Raziq Afridi alias Abu Bakar of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Muzaffar Mehmood of militant Islamic State group (Daesh) and Hafiz Zahid Mehmood alias Baho of TTP were held.

The CTD also registered four cases in different police stations of the province. FIR No. 10/22 under section 11-H, 11i, 11-J, 11-N ATA/1997 PS CTD Faisalabad, FIR No. 22/22 under section S 11-H, 11-I,11-J, 11-N ,11-F(2) ATA / 1997 PS CTD Gujranwala, FIR 05/22 under section 13(2a)/20/65 AO, 4/5 ESA, 7 ATA 1997 CTD Sheikhupura and FIR 23/22 under section 11 F (2), 11 W, 8/9 ATA 1997 PS CTD Gujranwala were filed.

The CTD also recovered explosives 2,672gm, prima card 08.7ft, detonators five, one pistol 30-bore with seven bullets, one battery, five pamphlets of banned organisations, one book of banned outfit, four stickers, receipt book, five cards, one motorcycle and Rs38,200.

Furthermore, during this week, 351 combing operations were conducted with the help of local police/LEAs. During these operations, 14,265 people were checked, 46 suspects arrested, 42 FIRs registered and 33 recoveries were made.
