LAKKI MARWAT: An official of the Federal Investigation Agency was shot dead in Tajazai area of Lakki Marwat on Saturday.

Officials said FIA’s assistant director Inamullah Khan, 48, and his relatives were present in an under-construction house in Mohallah Mir Walikhel when armed men came there and opened fire, killing the officer on the spot.

The killers were identified as Sharifullah and Ali Bahadar. They said Inamullah’s relatives narrowly escaped the attack.

Imranullah, 42, brother of the deceased, told the police they were inspecting the under-construction house when the attackers entered the house and opened fire.

He said his family had no dispute with the killers. However, said the attackers had exchanged fire with one of their relatives a day before.

The police said body of the slain official was handed over to relatives after fulfilling medico-legal formalities in the District Headquarters Hospital, Tajazai. The police registered a case against the killers.

Separately, a shopkeeper was shot at and injured in Titterekhel area of Lakki Marwat on Saturday. In another firing incident, three persons were injured in a firing incident in Wanda Kalan area near Lakki city.
