KARACHI: Second seed Nasir Iqbal ruthlessly defeated eighth seed Waqar Mehboob in the final of the inaugural Chief of the Naval Staff All Pakistan Squash Championship here at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Saturday.

Making his appearance in the domestic circuit after a long layoff, Nasir handed a 11-5, 11-1, 11-5 defeat to his opponent in just 20 minutes in the decider that fell short of expectations.

Top seed Zynab Khan added yet another feather to her cap when she was crowned the women’s title after beating qualifier Noor-ul-Ain in the title clash lasting 27 minutes.

The former national as well as junior champion conceded third game while registering a 11-5, 11-4, 10-12, 11-3 victory over her opponent.

Nasir received a winning purse of Rs200,000 while Zynab earned Rs100,000 from the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi after the finals. Squash legend Jahangir Khan was also present on the occasion.
