ISLAMABAD: A suspect was injured during an alleged shoot-out with the capital police. The police claimed that the suspect was injured from a bullet fired by his accomplices.
Over the incident, an FIR was registered at the Loi Bher police station, which was the verbatim copy of FIRs registered earlier at different police stations over alleged shoot-outs with suspects.
According to the FIR, a police patrolling team set up a picket at the Wildlife Park Road where three persons riding a motorcycle appeared. On suspicion, the police signaled them to stop, but they opened indiscriminate fire on the police.
The suspects took shelter behind bushes and then tried to escape by firing, the FIR said, adding two bullets fired by them hit the official vehicle; however, the police team remained safe as they took shelter behind the vehicle.
The police also retaliated and opened fire into the air with an SMG. Later, a search was conducted and one of the suspects was found injured in the bushes along with a 30-bore pistol.
“The suspect had sustained a bullet injury to his leg fired by his accomplices,” the FIR said, adding the two others escaped. During search, Rs550 and a mobile phone were recovered from the injured, it added.
