SWABI: Lawyers boycotted courts’ proceedings here on Thursday in protest against robbery at the house of Swabi District Bar Association general secretary Safdar Zeb advocate.

The robbery took place late on Wednesday night at the house of Mr Zeb at Parmuli village of Razaar tehsil.

Talking to this correspondent, Mr Zeb said that about 15/16 robbers in police uniform barged into their house located at the roadside from the side of their hujra soon after midnight.

He said they started search on the pretext that a criminal had escaped from them and entered their house.

“Later, the robbers took all our weapons and mobile phones and gathered the entire family in the room and started searching our rooms one by one,” he elaborated.

Mr Zeb said the robbers collected 24-tola of gold jewellery, Rs1.5 million cash, one Kalashnikov and Kalakov each, four rifles, three each pistols and mobile phone sets.

An FIR of the incident has been registered against the unknown accused in Parmuli police station.

General body meeting of District Bar Association discussed the incident and the lawyers boycotted the courts in Swabi Judicial Complex, Chota Lahor, Razaar and Topi as a protest.
