HYDERABAD, Jan 30: The chairman, Sindhi Language Authority, Prof Dr M. Quasim Bughio, said that due to the lack of training it had become difficult to promote positive tendencies in the society.

He was speaking at the concluding session of the five-day training workshop of young writers jointly organized by the the SLA and the Dawa Academy and the International Islamic University, Islamabad, here on Tuesday.

He said that the Dawa Academy was rendering yeomen services by introducing training programmes for young writers.

He stressed the need for introducing such training programmes for women writers also.

He said that if a woman was educated she was able to educate the whole family, and added that almost 50 per cent of the population could not be ignored in respect of education and training.

Directly addressing the young writers, Dr Bughio said that they were the builders of the future and they should disseminate the training which they had received during the workshop in every nook and corner of Sindh.

The director general of Dawa Academy, Dr. Khalid Alvi, Hameed Sindhi, and Taj Joyo also spoke on the occasion among others.

During the five-day workshop, 16 lectures were delivered on different subjects and discussions were also held on children’s literature.

PUBLICATION COMMITTEE: The Publication Committee of the Sindhi Language Authority at a meeting held on Tuesday approved many schemes such as the preparation of a dictionary on politics, children’s dictionary, phrases of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and a dictionary, etc. It was also decided to publish literature for children including recreational literature and literature on general knowledge.

It also decided to complete the on-going projects without any delay.
