MOHMAND: The Safi Sports Festival 2022 concluded here on Wednesday.

The provincial sports directorate, the district administration and Frontier Corps North organised the event.

A total of 35 teams consisting of 500 players from different schools and seminaries from across the district participated in the sports gala, which had started on November 29. Cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tug-of-war and other competitions were held.

The players also participated in a march past at the concluding ceremony.

The young athletes also performed gymnastics.

Deputy commissioner Arifullah Awan, who was the chief guest and Upper Mohmand tehsil council chairman Hafiz Taj Wali distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winning and runner-up teams.

They urged the students to focus their energies on study and make their future bright. They said Mohmand students had excelled not only in education but also in sports.
