KARACHI: Three persons were shot at and wounded by armed robbers over resistance in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

The Defence police said that Mohammed Niaz Ahmed, 25, was shot and injured by firing of unknown muggers when he resisted their robbery attempt in Phase-II near Street 7.

The injured was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

In another incident, armed robbers fired shots at a 40-year-old man, identified as Nazeer Javed, when he put up resistance during a robbery in Baldia Town near Christian Colony. The Ittehad Town police said that the wounded man was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

In Orangi Town, 14-year-old Aman Salahuddin was shot at and wounded by unidentified armed robbers near Sufaid Chowk. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the authorities have decided to hand over the investigation into the killing of a young policeman by a Swedish-Pakistani in the Defence Housing Authority to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

South-DIG Irfan Ali Baloch wrote a letter to the Karachi police chief requesting him to transfer the investigations to the CTD.
