KARACHI: Four men and as many women after winning their respective qualifiers reached the main round of the inaugural Chief of the Naval Staff All Pakistan Squash Championship here at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Tuesday.

The players who advanced include Saddam-ul-Haq, Azlan Khawar, Abbas Shaukat and Mehmood Mehboob (men) and Kainat Amir, Amna Malik, Noor-ul-Ain and Habiba Ali (women).

The main round begins on Wednesday with 16 players apiece vying for top honours in both the categories.

Israr Ahmed and Nasir Iqbal have been seeded one and two, respectively in the men’s section while Zynab Khan tops the seedings among the women followed by Anum Mustafa.

Second qualifying round: Saddam-ul-Haq bt Hikmat Yar Khan 11-2, 11-9, 11-5; Azlan Khawar bt Talha Saeed 11-8, 11-7, 11-7, Abbas Shaukat bt Mutahir Ali 11-5, 11-9, 11-4; Mehmood Mehboob bt Tanveer Qamar 11-6, 11-7, 11-5.

Second qualifying round (women): Kainat Amir bt Alina Zehra (walkover); Amna Malik bt Sameera Shahid 11-4, 11-4, 11-3; Noor-ul-Ain bt Mahnoor Ali 11-7, 11-4, 11-6; Habiba Ali bt Aina Aziz 11-4, 11-6, 11-2.
