KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Monday reserved its order on a set of appeals filed against the acquittal of 14 workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in cases pertaining to recovery of illicit arms and explosives from party’s now sealed Nine Zero headquarters in 2015.

A two-judge bench headed by Justice Mohammad Karim Khan Agha also reserved judgement on appeals of around a dozen party workers impugning their conviction in identical cases handed down by the trial court.

After hearing arguments from parties concerned and examining the record, the bench reserved the order on all such appeals for pronouncement on a date to be fixed later.

An antiterrorism court had acquitted 14 MQM activists and sentenced 12 others for a period of imprisonment between 10 and six years.
