LAHORE: Acknowledging the distinction earned by Dr Hafiz Muhammad Waleed Malik, who has won record 29 gold medals in different disciplines in the final MBBS exam, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi invited him for a meeting likely to be held here on Monday (today).

The meeting, to be held at the chief minister’s secretariat, has been arranged after Dr Malik’s success story took rounds on social and traditional media where he was gathering praises from all sides.

Graduating from the Ameeruddin Medical College (AMC), Lahore, the young health professional has also made the institution proud.

AMC principal Prof Dr Muhammad Al-fareed Zafar congratulated the talented doctor and faculty members and announced that Dr Malik’s photo will be prominently displayed at the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), AMC and the Lahore General Hospital (LGH).

He said the decision was taken in order to create among the other students the spirit of excelling in the studies.

Prof Al-fareed said obtaining medical education requires hard work and a serious attitude so that one could succeed in the exams. He said the AMC students were lucky to have senior faculty members for diploma and degree courses in PGMI.
