HYDERABAD: The Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has announced launching a campaign for improvement in public healthcare facilities in the province and warned that his party will besiege government hospitals if they fail to facilitate patients and provide them the treatment they require.

Dr Magsi told a press conference at his residence on Thursday that people of Sindh had to bear with poor healthcare as the hospitals had literally been auctioned off. Indoor patients did not get medicines, bed and even beddings. The party would surround all such hospitals, he warned.

He said that recent flood had destroyed the entire province and its infrastructure. Till this day, several villages were under water, he said.

He said that sale of narcotics like mainpuri, gutka etc continued unabated. STP had written letters to all senior superintendents of police in this regard and warned if police did not launch a crackdown against it his party would launch a protest campaign against the menace, he said.
