KOHAT: A man and his son were killed when gunmen ambushed the motorcycle they were riding in Jarma area here on Wednesday.

The Jarma police officials said the twice-married man and his son from his second wife were killed by sons from his first wife over a family dispute.

They said Akash and his father, Payum Khan, were coming to the city when their motorcycle was ambushed in a secluded area.

The locals informed the police about the bodies lying on the road.

The victims belonged to Sheikhan area.

The police registered FIR against the suspected attackers.

Meanwhile, a drug addict, namely Abidullah, was killed in Sheikhan area during a fight with his friends.

DELIVERY CENTRES: The district administration has opened two more delivery centres raising their number to three on the demand of people for speedy transfer of collective property in the name of individuals.

A statement issued here on Wednesday said setting up of the two more delivery centres would ensure speedy disposal of cases relating to land transfer.

VISIT: General Officer Commanding IX Division Maj-Gen Ehsan Khattak on Wednesday praised the police role in ‘effectively’ curbing terrorism and crime in the province.

He visited the office of district police officer Shafiullah Gandapur and exalted the performance of police in the continuing clean-up operations.

He was welcomed by DIG Kohat division Tahir Ayub, SP operations Bilal Ahmed and SP counter-terrorism department Fazal Wahad.

Later, he was presented with shields by the DIG and the DPO.

PROJECTS: A mission of the Asian Development Bank has emphasised maintaining quality and timely completion of public welfare projects.

The ADB mission held a meeting on Wednesday with the consultants and contractors of the city improvement project and implementing unit.

MPA Ziaullah Bangash and Kohat city mayor Qari Sher Zaman were also in attendance.
