BAJAUR: A man was injured in a bomb blast in a hilly area of Bajaur tribal district on Friday.

Residents and police officials said that the incident occurred in Goati area of Mamond tehsil.

They said that the victim identified as Taj Khan was going to a nearby place from his house when the bomb planted along the way went off. After hearing the explosion, people of nearby areas reached the site and shifted the wounded man to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar.

Confirming the blast, an official at the Mamond police station told Dawn that a team of personnel visited the scene soon after the incident. He said the team collected evidence from the site for investigation.
