SUKKUR: Ghotki police on Thursday claimed to have killed two outlaws who were believed to be members of notorious Rahib Shar gang which had killed five police officials – a DSP, two inspectors and two constables -- in an attack on a police-camp in Raunti within riverine area of Ubauro on Nov 6.
Police officials said that police teams rushed to Drang Chachar village in the riverine area within the jurisdiction of Aandal Sundrani police station to arrest the outlaws when they received a tip-off about their presence in the area with intention of committing crime.
As soon as the criminals saw the police approaching them, they opened fire at them. Police returned the fire and killed two of the bandits, said police officials.
They said that later, one of them was identified as Hakim Shar and his associate was believed to be Aago Shar.
Police told media persons that Hakim Shar was wanted by Raunti police in the case of police officials’ murder. Furthermore, police also found official weapons on the dead bodies, which they must have appropriated after having martyred the police officials, they said.
They said that Hakim Shar was wanted by police in 10 different cases of heinous crimes and police had recommended to higher authorities for putting Rs5 million bounty on Hakim’s head.
The police officials said that they were determined to avenge the death of their five colleagues who were martyred by outlaws’ gangs operating in Ghotki district.
