NAROWAL: District and Sessions Judge Jazila Aslam sentenced Hasnain Mota to death and fined him Rs500,000 for kidnapping and killing Muzamal Husain in Sialkot in February 2016 as retaliation for not paying extortion.

The case was investigated and prosecuted by Nikapora police.

According to the police, Mota oversaw a ransom collection gang while living abroad and had become a symbol of horror among the district residents. In 2020, he was arrested and extradited to Pakistan.

Locals praised the police for the successful conclusion of the case.20

INJURED: Twenty passengers were injured as their bus involved in a race with another bus overturned on the Muridke Road.

The videos of the race between the buses and the accident went viral on social media. The Shakargarh-bound buses were coming from Lahore. Passengers in the buses kept pleading with the drivers to reduce the speed but in vain.

A passenger also kept making videos of the race until one of the buses overturned near Kallarwala Fort.

Twenty passengers, including women, were injured when the bus overturned.

Eyewitnesses, Abdul Hafeez and Nasrullah Khan, who were among the passengers, said the bus driver was drunk as he continued abusing the driver of the other bus.

The bus drivers did not give way to each other and continued to drive on the wrong way.

GANG: A gang of inter-district motorcycle thieves who were wanted in connection with 91 thefts of motorcycles was arrested by the Sialkot police.

Muhammad Ali, alias Bala, and Aryan, alias Usman, were both detained by the Daska police. They turned over 18 motorcycles to the police.

In 90 seconds, the burglars could steal a motorcycle. Numerous CCTV recordings of the motorcycle theft, according to the police, were given to them.

According to police sources, the suspects stole 91 motorcycles only in the Sialkot district.
