MANSEHRA: A man died and his wife sustained critical injuries when a car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine in Sazeen area of Upper Kohistan on Saturday.

The car was on way to Hunza district of Gilgit-Baltistan from Islamabad.

Rescue 1122 and police officials rushed to the spot and shifted both the inmates of the car to a nearby hospital in critical condition after retrieving them from the side of the Indus River. However, doctors pronounced the man, namely Badshahullah, dead, while his wife was referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad, in precarious condition.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested after cancellation of his pre-arrest bail in a case of torturing to death his employee.

Gulfaraz, according to the FIR lodged with the city police, had tortured to death his employee, Mohammad Tahir, 15, suspecting him of stealing and selling his pistol, last month.
