VERONA: Moise Kean shot Juventus into the Serie A top four with the winner in Thursday’s 1-0 victory at Hellas Verona which extended his team’s league winning run to five matches while Lazio climbed to second place after a 1-0 home win over Monza thanks to a goal from Luka Romero.
Italy striker Kean struck his second league goal of the season just after the hour at the Stadio Bentegodi to put Juve provisionally third on 28 points from 14 games before they were bumped down a spot after Lazio’s win at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio have 30 points, eight behind leaders Napoli.
Juve, who take on Lazio on Sunday, haven’t conceded a goal in their winning streak while Verona — bottom of the table with five points — have now suffered nine Serie A losses in a row in for the first time.
Kean struck on the hour mark when he ran into the box and keeper Lorenzo Montipo smothered his shot but could not stop it from tickling into the net.
In the later game, Lazio sealed victory in the 69th minute when Monza keeper Michele Di Gregorio could not hold Pedro’s shot and Romero reacted quickly to the loose ball and put it in the net.
