QUETTA: One man was injured in a hand grenade attack in Chaman on Monday, police officials said.

The attack took place near irrigation department’s office in the Railway Crossing Gate area.

The police said unidentified attackers riding a motorcycle hurled the grenade, destroying two vehicles and damaging window panes and doors of the building.

The injured was moved to Civil Hospital. Later, the police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, no arrest was reported.

Meanwhile in Ziarat, a bullet-riddled body was found in a gunny bag in the Hanna Urak police station area.

The locals informed the police about the body which was then moved to Civil Hospital in Quetta.

The deceased, identified as Sher Ali, was killed by unknown men who later dumped the body, the police claimed, adding that further investigation was under way.
