15th karate championship from today

KARACHI, Dec 28: The 15th National karate championship will be held at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre from Thursday. Pakistan Army, Police, Railways, Wapda and four provincial teams, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan will be taking part in the championship.

Besides senior championship, junior event is being included for the first time.

On the opening day, preliminary and final competition of kata will be contested while kamate event will be held on Friday at 3.00pm.

Individual kata in senior class will be held in 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 75, 80 plus kilogram categories.

Among the juniors individual kata in 50 and 60kg will be contested.—APP
