All-rounder Mohammad Haris replaces injured Fakhar Zaman for T20 World Cup

Pakistan on Thursday called up batting all-rounder Mohammad Haris to replace the injured Fakhar Zaman just hours before they face South Africa in Sydney with their T20 World Cup hopes on the line.
Haris, who can also bowl off spin and keep wicket, was approved as a replacement by the event's technical committee after Zaman was ruled out of the tournament with posterior cruciate ligament damage in his right knee.

The 21-year-old Haris has only played one previous T20 international, against England in Lahore in September.
He made seven runs opening the batting alongside captain Babar Azam and kept wicket as England cruised to an eight-wicket victory inside 15 overs.
Middle-order batsman Zaman was not originally part of Pakistan's 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup because of his knee problems and came in as a risky late replacement for legspinner Usman Qadir.
Fakhar missed the defeats against India and Zimbabwe before returning against the Netherlands in Perth on Sunday where he made 20 off 16 balls but aggravated his knee injury.
Haris has made four one-day international appearances for Pakistan, with a top score of six against the West Indies in Multan in June this year.
Pakistan face South Africa at the Sydney Cricket ground later on Thursday needing to win to keep their faint hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.

Overconfidence is the mother of all failures.
First, our Chairman sahib was so confident that Afridi will come in the match against India and will perform like a rockstar. What did he do? 4-0-34-0.
Then when a half-fit Fakhar was drafted in the playing XI, people were already claiming that he will repeat his Champions Trophy Final performance, turns out that he will be sitting out for the next few months to recover.
Conclusion - stay humble and grounded and let your bat/ball do the talking.

First of all, why three injured players were allowed to go WC .... Mr. Know All and Arrogant Rajab sb should be made accountable for this .... also babar azam seems a remote controlled captain and should immediately be stripped and a strong captain is appointed instead the contribution of pakistani coaches is a big question mark. Coaching staff should be limited

What a fuss about the selection of unfit players and not playing them in the best eleven in crucial matches thus leaving out experienced players back in home. I think this is a great failure for the PCB regarding the mega tournament. The whole matters of world cup debacle should be judged and should take strong steps against those responsible.

A player whose top score is 6 in 4 ODI appearances is playing T20 World Cup!!! Who is doing this type of selection? Why not they included Shoaib Malik in the team, he would have done better than what existing players are doing. They also bring on Shaheen Afridi in haste who is not yet fit to bowl. Captain, PCB Chief and CHief Selector all three are responsible for this poor performance by Pakistan.
