ISLAMABAD Dec 27: A meeting of the combined opposition leaders scheduled for Tuesday morning was postponed and rescheduled for Dec 30 due to the naib nazim elections falling on Wednesday, sources told Dawn. The meeting which was to be attended by all senior leaders of major opposition alliances and parties at the residence of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan over a cup of tea could not be held due to non-availability of some leaders due to the last phase of local bodies elections for naib nazims, sources said.

A senior opposition leader said no new date was scheduled for the meeting.

However, when contacted MMA Deputy Secretary-General Liaqat Baloch confirmed that the opposition leaders will now meet in Islamabad on Friday and discuss Balochistan, tribal areas and Kalabagh issues.
