Yasir to face Farhan in U-17 final

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29: Alamzeb Sr. of Pakistan Airforce edged out Punjab’s Yasir Butt in a tough under-17 semifinal Tuesday to set up a clash in the final with Farhan Mahboob in the CAS National Junior Squash Championship in Peshawar.

Although Yasir fought hard throughout the match, he could not take a game off Alamzeb who won 9-6, 9-5, 9-5.

In the other semfinal, Farhan Mahboob, also from PAF, knocked out Punjab’s Basit Ashfaq 9-2, 9-3, 9-2.

Under-17 semifinals: Farhan Mahboob (PAF) bt Basit Ashfaq (Punjab) 9-2, 9-3, 9-2, Alamzeb (PAF) bt Yasir Butt (Punjab) 9-6, 9-5, 9-5.

Under-17 quarterfinals: Alamzeb (PAF) bt Jehanzeb Masood (Sindh) 9-1, 9-1, 9-1, Basit Ashfaq (Punjab) bt Shahid Khan (NWFP) 9-3, 9-2, 9-0, Farhan Mahboob (PAF) bt Haider Jamal (Punjab) 9-1, 9-1, 9-0, Yasir Butt (Punjab) bt Maqbali Khan (NWFP) 9-6, 9-2, 9-0.

Under-15 semifinals: Adil Atlas (PAF) bt Majeed Hussain (PAF) 9-2, 9-4, 9-1, Bilal Zaman (PAF) bt Farzah Rashid (Punjab) 9-2, 9-2, 9-2.

Under-15 quarterfinals: Adil Atlas (PAF) bt Fahim Gul Jr. (NWFP) 9-0, 9-0, 9-0, Bilal Zaman (PAF) bt M.
