MUZAFFARGARH: Six hundred kanals of land has been allocated for a sports stadium while 42 kanals for the District Complex for the new district of Kot Addu.
Dera Ghazi Khan Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha visited the office of the Municipal Committee Kot Addu to check the speed of work on the development projects.
The commissioner inspected the proposed sites and buildings for the District Complex and other infrastructure projects, including the dual road from Chowk Qureshi to Qasbah Gujrat.
Deputy Director Development Anam Hafeez, Highways EXEN Muhammad Waqas and other officers told meeting that a 50-bed maternity and child hospital was under construction. The two-storey building of the hospital would cost Rs750m and the project would be completed by March 2024. The Chakar-i-Azam Girls College is being constructed on 42 kanals, Sports Stadium and a rest house at 600 kanal. An amount of Rs600m is being spent on the road from Dera Din Panah to Head Taunsa and three bridges.
Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha and Deputy Commissioner Muzaffargarh retired Capt Samiullah Farooq also planted saplings on the lawns of the MC Office Kot Addu.
The commissioner expressed his displeasure at the lack of interest of the revenue officers in completing the digital collection in the Kot Addu area and sought an explanation. He gave directions for issuance of comprehensive computerised decisions instead of sale tickets.
While presiding over a meeting of revenue officers at Head Taunsa Barrage, the commissioner said more revenue offices had been opened for the convenience of the public.
He said percentage collection of the government dues, pending judicial and rental cases should be dealt with quickly.
