Trio shine

LAHORE, Dec 26: Two goals each by Bilal Hayee, Junaid Ahmed and Usman Hayee helped Learning Alliance win the Harvester Services Polo Cup beating Prime Travel 7-5 on Sunday.

LA made a fine start taking 2-1 lead in the first chukker. Tariq Hashim and Bilal struck a goal each for the winners.

Iftikhar Ali Simba reduced the margin. LA increased the lead 5-1 in the second chukker with Junaid (2) and Usman scoring the goals.

The winners led 7-2 in the third chukker by adding two more goals against one. Usman and Bilal scored their second goals. Vishal Nihalam struck for the losers.

In the fourth chukker, the losers scored three goals in a row but their efforts fell short. Iftikhar, Vishal and Ahsan Javed Sher scored one goal each.

Four goals by Taimur Mawaz Khan enabled Guard Filters to beat Tri Star 7-2 to gain the third position. Meanwhile, three matches were decided in the Seasons Canola Cup on Monday.

Garden House beat Diet Coke 9-5. Ahmed Ali Tiwana scored six goals for the winners while Sufi Haris struck thrice.

For the losers, Azhar Ali (2), Iftikhar (2) and Abid Nawaz (1) were the scorers.

Three goals by Hissam Ali Hyder helped Lead War beat Axis 4-3. Hashim Kamal added one goal. For the losers, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana scored three goals.

Six goals by Saqib Khan Khakwani steered En vogue to 9-3 win over Learning Alliance. Taimur Mawaz Khan scored three goals.

For the losers, Bilal Haye, Usman Haye and Junaid Ahmad scored a goal each.
