Senator wants details of guests

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: Senator Muhammad Anwar Baig has requested the Minister for Sports and Culture to respond to several questions in connection with the home series against England that ended this month.

In a letter to the secretary of the Senate, Enver’s queries include the number of guests invited by the PCB from abroad, reasons for invitation, their travel and accommodation details and other expenses involved.

He has also asked for details of the complimentary tickets issued by PCB during the Test and one-day series.

In one of the alleged biggest scams, the PCB had given out free tickets worth millions of rupees during the home series against India in 2004.

Pakistan beat England 2-0 in the three Test series before edging them 3-2 in the five-game one-day contest.
