ISLAMABAD Jan 29: Pakistan Tehrik Insaaf (PTI) has demanded of the government to release all the political detainees, including Qazi Hussain Ahmed to create an atmosphere of national integrity necessary in wake of the enemy’s amassing of armies on Pakistan’s eastern borders.

A PTI spokesman, in a statement here on Tuesday, termed the re-arrest of Qazi Hussain Ahmed by the Punjab police as adding to the seriousness of the conditions at home.

He said the government should sense that the internal integrity could guarantee effective defence against the external threats and all steps should be aimed at creating complete unity.

“It is the responsibility of the United States to persuade India to refrain from taking extreme steps that can jeopardise peace in the region,” he said adding the US should force India to settle the Kashmir dispute.
