LAHORE: A woman and her three children suffered multiple burns at their home in Hair village on Thursday.

The injured were identified as Shazia Bibi, her two-year-old son Asad and daughters three-year-old Eeman Fatima, and five-year-old Rukhsar.

A team of the Rescue 1122 responded to the emergency call and shifted them to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the emergency service said the condition of Asad and Eeman Fatima was serious because they suffered 50pc and 30pc burns. He said Rukhsar was shifted to the hospital with 20pc burns and Shazia with minor burns on her arms.

He said initially it was reported that the fire erupted and they suffered burns when one of them threw inflammable petroleum spirit on the burning stove. Police had been informed to investigate the matter, he said.

A police official said experts would investigate the matter and details would be shared once inquiry was completed.

SUICIDE: A young man, Qamar Abbas, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Shahdara Town area on Thursday.

A police official said the incident occurred at Ittehad Park where the police recovered the young man’s body from his house.

Apparently, the cause of suicide was unknown as the family was not in a position to share details. The police handed over the body to the family after completing legal formalities, he said.
