PESHAWAR, Dec 24: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) has launched a health program in schools of Mansehra district. In this connection, a refresher course for deputy and assistant district officers of the education department was held here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, NCHD district general manager Riaz Hassan Khan said that following the Oct 8 earthquake, most of the children were suffering from some kind of disease.

“Keeping in view the situation, the module of training is based on eye sight, hearing, dental hygiene, skin and personal hygiene of school children. This will help the children and their parents to over come minor diseases,” he added.

He was of the view that teachers could play an active role in raising awareness among school children and their parents regarding personal hygiene.
