KARACHI: A young woman was shot dead allegedly by her husband in Pathan Colony of Orangi Town on Monday, according to police.

SITE-A police SHO Bhai Khan said that Kainat, 22, was shot and killed by the firing of her husband, Kamran Aqeel, inside their home in Jalali Mohalla.

In the meantime, a mob gathered there and got hold on the suspect and subjected him to severe beating before. Later, police reached the scene and rescued him by taking him into custody and shifted to a hospital.

The SHO said the condition of the suspect was also critical.

CTD arrests ‘JSMM man’

The Counter-Terrorism Department on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspect linked with banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM).

Acting on a tip-off, the CTD conducted a raid in Agra Taj Colony, arrested Ghanwar Kolachi and recovered four grenades and arms from his possession.

It said that the held suspect’s brother, Zulfiqar Kolachi, was killed in a bomb blast in 2011.
