BANNU, Dec 23: A rest-house of the paramilitary Tochi Scouts here came under rocket attack on Thursday night, officials said. Three rockets were fired at the rest-house near Kot Beli on the Kohat Road at around 11.20pm. One of the rockets hit the rest-house’s store, while the other two exploded in the air.

Officials said the rockets missed their target and caused no damage.

Police and Tochi Scouts cordoned off the area immediately after the attack and fired several rounds in the general direction of the rockets’ point of origin.

DSP (headquarters) Abdul Rashid Khan did not rule out involvement of tribal militants in the attack and said that the rockets had been fired from the direction of the sports complex.
