(EDITORIAL) Muslim League circles in Karachi who described the statement of 10 “Congress leaders from Western Pakistan” which was issued in New Delhi on Friday [Oct 3] as an “infamous document”, put it very, very mildly.

…It would be a mistake to regard the outburst of these 10 handpicked liars as an isolated attempt to throw a little more mud at Pakistan. … Events which have taken place over large parts of Hindustan have focused world-wide attention on … this sub-continent… [S]ome impartial neutral body will have to look more closely into them. The world will then discover what it is beginning to feel already, that the Hindu leaders of India who had assured everybody that they and their community had outgrown their original primitive nature and outlook, drunk well and long at the fount of democracy, acquired the characteristics of modern civilisation and earned the right to be regarded as a people in every way fit to shoulder the responsibilities of enlightened self-rule — had practised a monstrous fraud upon world opinion.
