Afridi rattles bankers

Published December 24, 2005

LAHORE, Dec 23: Fine bowling by medium-pacer Riaz Afridi helped PTCL restrict NBP to 123-6 in the Patron’s Trophy Grade I match which started at Sheikhupura Stadium on Friday, after first day’s play was called off due to fog.

But the thick fog only allowed 34 overs’ play in which Riaz sent down 17 overs to pick up four wickets for 51 after PTCL’s captain Aamer Bashir won the toss and ask the bankers to bat first.

Imran Nazir (42, seven fours) and Naved Latif (30) reached double figures. Tahir Mughal ably supported Riaz, taking two wickets for 56 runs.
