LAHORE: Several matches were played on the first day of the New Khan Punjab Junior Tennis Championship here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Monday.

In the boys U-18 main round, Mohammad Ahtesham beat Rehan Shahid 6-3, Waleed Humayun outclassed Hammad Shahid 6-2, Ismail Ahmad defeated Abubakar Khalil 6-3 while Aized Khalil earned a 6-4 victory against Aoun Raza.

Results (qualifying round):

U-12 boys/girls: M Ibraheem Hussain Gill bt Shafay Iqbal 6-2, M. Ayyan Khan bt Moosa Daowood Baig 6-3; Eesa Khan Malik bt Aiman Rehan 6-2; M. Umar Ali bt Ahmad Khan 6-0.

U-10 boys/girls (qualifying round): Shahzain Faisal bt Ameen Abdullah 6-4; Rania Shahrukh bt Aahil Najoom 6-0.
