LAHORE: Following indecision of the federal government on the posting of a regular Punjab chief secretary, incumbent CS Kamran Ali Afzal expressing his resolve that he has quit his office for good, got his leave extended for another week.

The Punjab Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has issued an order that reads: Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal has been granted seven days extension in his earned leave from Oct 1 to 7.

The S&GAD also issued an order extending tenure of P&D Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal for another week to continue looking after the routine work of the office of the chief secretary in addition to his own duties.

CS Afzal had gone on a two-week leave “in protest” on Sept 17 after his several requests including a written request for the withdrawal of his services from Punjab remained unheeded by the PML-N led federal government.
