LAHORE: The Chuhng police lodged two cases against nearly 200 attackers, including guards and staff members of a private housing society, for thrashing government officials.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of Ruda Deputy Director Ijaz Mahmood and another was lodged by the driver of City AC Mohammad Zubair.

The complainants alleged the suspects were illegally constructing structures at the Park View Housing Society. As the government officials stopped them, society’s guards and another 200 people attacked them. They fired shots, kidnapped the official team members and held them hostage.

According to the FIR, society owners had already been served a notice to bar them from making construction and they committed an offence. There were reports that the police teams were conducting raids to arrest the attackers.
