KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were killed by citizens in different parts of the city on Sunday, police said.

In the first incident, the police said around three to four suspects entered the house of Fazal Raheem in Malir at around 4am for a robbery. The house owner, who was asleep on the roof, woke up, challenged the outlaws and opened fire.

The bullets hit one of the suspects who died on the spot, while his accomplices managed to escape. The body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. He was identified as Naseer, 34 Memon Goth SHO Akram Arain said the deceased was a resident of Kathor and was said to be a drug addict.

In Surjani Town, three robbers tried to rob two security guards at a house in Gulshan-i-Noor.

The guards, Kamran Shahid, 20, and Moiz, 25, put up resistance and during an exchange of firing they along with a suspect suffered bullet wounds.

All the three injured were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where suspect Muhammad Aslam died during treatment, the police added.

The police recovered a TT pistol along with rounds from the deceased robber.
