QUETTA: The main pipeline supplying gas to many areas of Balochistan was blown up by unidentified attackers near Dera Bugti on Saturday, officials said.

According to Levies officials, armed men planted an explosive device under the pipeline supplying gas to Dera Bugti and other areas from the Loti gas field in the early hours of the day.

The supply from the plant has been suspended after the attack. Officials said that work to repair the damaged pipeline would start after security clearance.

An investigation has been launched into the attack. No organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
