DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Robbers took away Rs2.5 million from a businessman before killing him in Tank district on Friday, the police said.

A police official said businessman, namely Ikram, was going to deposit an amount of Rs2.5 million in a bank when unknown armed men intercepted him.

He said that the businessman tried to escape, but the robbers sprayed him with bullets from behind, killing him on the spot.

The robbers managed to escape from the scene taking away the amount with them.

The official said that the police had registered a case against unknown persons and started making efforts to arrest them.

Meanwhile, the Tajir Ittihad of Tank expressed anger over the police failure to protect the business community against such attacks.

The traders’ body demanded immediate arrest of the killers.
