NEW DELHI: Representatives of the Dominion Governments of India and Pakistan at their two-day conference here re-affirmed the policy of both Governments to create and maintain conditions in their respective Dominions, in which the minorities could live in security. “The two Governments were in complete accord that they should co-operate in the establishment of peaceful conditions. Any conception of conflict between India and Pakistan was repugnant not only on moral grounds but because any such conflict would result in disaster to both,” says an official Press note on the proceedings of the conference.

The API understands that the conference was not strictly confined to a review of the present disorders in the two Dominions, but covered a number of other subjects, economic and financial. — News agencies

[It was also reported from New Delhi that] Addressing a Press conference … Master Tara Singh and Sardar Harnam Singh denied the charge made by “Pakistan propagandists” that the Sikhs were endeavouring to carve out a separate State for themselves, and that was the cause of all the present troubles in the Punjab. The Sikh leaders said that it was part of Muslim propaganda to divide the Sikhs and Hindus. — News agencies
