ISLAMABAD: The Pims administration has notified a committee to monitor compliance with the Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.

According to details, the committee is headed by Prof Dr Rana Imran Sikandar with three other members including Dr Sadia Riaz, Dr Mumtaz Niazi and Humaira Khushnood.

Shamsher Khan is the co-opted member and secretary of the committee.

Meanwhile, employees of the hospital on Tuesday held a protest against the delay in time scale promotions.

They said that despite passage of three months, orders of the prime minister regarding time scale promotions could not be implemented.

Paramedical Staff Association, Nursing Association and Non-gazetted Staff Welfare association warned that if timescale promotions are not announced within 48 hours, they would opt for an extreme step.

Dr Khalid Masood, while talking to Dawn, said that the internal committee has finalised the promotions of 113 employees of Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 1 to 10.

“However promotion from BPS 11 to 16 will be done by the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). The meeting cannot be held in the absence of its chairman so I have requested the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) to appoint or give charge of the post of Deputy Secretary (DS) Technical at the earliest. DS Technical chairs the DPC and currently seat is vacant,” he said.
