LAHORE: Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has urged the poultry industry to devise a mechanism for the prices of poultry products.

Speaking at the International Poultry Expo & Poultry Science Conference (PSC-IPEX) 2022 on Friday, he said that there should be a mechanism for deciding the prices of poultry meat, eggs and other products, unlike the present situation in which none could predict the prices for any given day.

He said that the poultry association should arrange scholarships for students to attract them towards research in the industry.

He said it’s a responsibility of the government to facilitate the promotion of the poultry sector and promised that the suggestions put forward by the poultry association would be taken up with the federal authorities.

Referring to the flood situation in the country, the governor said it was heartbreaking to see all four provinces submerged under water. It’s very important to take care of the rehabilitation and needs of the victims as the world is also now admitting that the destruction caused by this flood is much greater than Pakistan’s contribution to climate change.

Meanwhile, the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Bio-Vet Private Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in poultry management research.

Under the MoU, both parties will extend support to promote research and development and will work to find real-time scientific solutions to the problems being faced by the local poultry industry.
