HUNZA: President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto said here last night [Aug 26] that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had misunderstood all the initiatives taken by the Pakistan Government to thrash out mutual problems. He said he had taken the initiative because he wanted to help start a new era in the Sub-continent.

... “But when I talked to Sheikh Mujib on telephone the other day ... he started talking about the recognition of Bangladesh. I reminded him of his meeting with me here on Dec 27 and Jan 7 when he volunteered repeatedly that soon we will meet to thrash this out.” But Sheikh Mujib backed out saying that then he did not know about the alleged atrocities. — News agencies
